Cultivated in freezing Nordic forests, this timber grows at a fraction of the speed of southern wood, resulting in exceptionally tight annual rings. This dense grain yields a timber that is inherently harder, highly warp-resistant, and naturally equipped to endure the damp, demanding Irish weather.

Utilizing precision interlocking tongue-and-groove engineering, the interlocking logs form a highly stable, weatherproof seal that ensures your cabin remains a dry, comforting retreat year after year.

Essential Care & Installation Guide

Foundation & Timber Protection

• The Substructure: Always construct your cabin upon a dedicated treated substructure. This elevates the timber base, facilitating optimal airflow underneath to prevent rising damp.

• Priming: During assembly, treat the tongue-and-groove joints with a premium, colorless wood primer. Once built, apply a comprehensive coat of primer to all interior and exterior surfaces.

• Finishing: Once the primer has cured (24–48 hours), apply two coats of high-grade, long-lasting protective glaze or opaque exterior paint. Note: Properties in coastal Irish regions exposed to salt-laden sea air will require more frequent maintenance cycles.

Premium Weatherproof Roofing

Because The Nice features a sleek, ultra-modern flat roof, traditional roof shingles are not suitable due to the minimal slope. We highly recommend a dual-layer or high-performance roofing system:

• Option A (Dual-Layer): A base layer of our glass-fleece reinforced Bitumen V13 underlay (engineered to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations), topped with robust, galvanized, and coated steel trapezoidal profile sheets.

• Option B (Seamless Single-Layer): Industrial-grade EPDM rubber roofing foil, offering a contemporary finish and lifelong waterproofing.

• Custom-sized Trapezoidal Steel and EPDM kits are available directly in our accessories section.

Important Notices

• Flooring: Please note that a timber floor kit is not included in the standard package for The Nice, allowing you the flexibility to lay custom flooring (such as engineered wood or premium laminate) suited to your cabin's purpose.

• Planning Permission: For specific local building regulations regarding garden structures, we advise consulting your local City or County Council.
